Objective: A team with a history of low psychological safety and legacy leadership challenges was ready to reset. With new leadership in place, the goal was to begin shaping the team culture toward greater openness, collaboration, and accountability without glossing over past difficulties or prescribing a top-down solution.

Approach: Catalyst Strategy designed and facilitated a bespoke team workshop focused on cultural evolution. After establishing trust through pre-workshop engagements and structured warm-up activities, the team explored their current culture using tangible elements such as behaviours, rituals, and symbols.

Through an interactive, guided process, the group reflected on what they wanted to do more of, do less of, start doing, and stop doing. The activity created space for honest conversation, grounded in shared experiences rather than blame.

The team then worked together to prioritise the most impactful shifts and co-created a set of shared cultural commitments. Ownership was collective, with the leader playing an active but non-dominant role, signalling change while empowering the team to shape the path forward.

It created a safe forum for real talk, reframed cultural change as a shared responsibility, and clarified the behaviours that would drive trust and performance.
